It rivals anything made today and it has one of the most
accurate depictions of space travel ever seen on the big screen.
Considering it was made before digital displays existed its a triumph to special effects/filmaking.

I think that "hello Dave" is probably one of the best lines in movie history.

great touch in 2010 getting the same actor to recreate Hal's voice even though the movie stunk.

and great homage to the movie in Independence Day when Jeff Goldblum turned on his laptop and heard "Hello Dave!"

Have you misspelled worst? It was dreadful! Nothing happens for about a fortnight, there is one scene then nothing else happens for another fortnight and I'm left thinking "I'm 2 hours older now 'cos of that shower of b*stards"

PS: I'm a Kubrick fan on the whole but when he missed, by God did he miss by miles!
