Well, the braces could cause temporary headaches and discomfort, but they shouldn't be so crippling to you. I cannot say what is wrong without more information, but I would definitely suggest seeing a doctor. A chiropractor might be an option as for some time I had serious headaches related to my body alignment. After visiting the chiropractor a couple of times with maintenance visits once in a while, the headaches stopped almost completely.
Also, if your doctor does not seem to find concern and the headaches do no alleviate, then I would suggest visiting a neurologist. Hope you get to feeling better!

Has anything changed recently (in the last week)? Are you eating new foods? Are the braces new, or were they just tightened? Do you have allergies/(sinus headaches)? Do you think it could be stress? It is hard to say. I would try to keep a log of your symptoms, and what you think might be triggering them. What is associated with your headache symptoms? What type of pain is it? Sharp or dull? Throbbing or stabbing? One side of your head or both sides? When does it start & how long does it last? Does anything make it better or worse? (e.g. do you take meds for it, like aspirin, & does it help?) Do loud noises or light make it worse? Do eating certain foods seem to trigger your headaches (this happens sometimes for migraine sufferers)? Does it happen often after you run (you mentioned this today, that's why I ask)? Start looking for patterns, start keeping records. I would probably make a doctor's appointment. It is a little unusual to start getting headaches out of nowhere, if you have never had them before, but it is possible. Many people suffer from headaches. But if you start with the journal, you will be one step ahead of your doctor, because he/she will probably ask you to do this anyway. It will help him/her to determine what type of headache you are suffering from and how best to treat it. If they get any worse, I would try to see a doctor ASAP.

Headaches have many causes, and may indicate a number of different medical conditions.
Visiting your dentist and doctor should shed a lot of light on your situation.
Make a list to take with you to their offices, so that you don't forget anything. On the list, include data such as: how long you've been getting these headaches, what time of day, how long they last, etc.
Good luck.
And try not to worry until you have something to worry about. There's no way someone on Yahoo can diagnose a medical condition accurately without a full physical examination, so you're doing the right thing by going to medical professionals.

I would suggest going to the doctor to be checked out, but it could be that you are dehydrated. Headaches are a side effect many times due to dehydration. If your braces are tight and you are clenching your jaw during the day you could also be causing headaches. Your dentist will most likely ask you this question as well.
Hoping your headaches go away soon!

Might have high blood pressure. The braces could also be moving the bones in your mouth and hitting the densities of your jaws, causing a headache.

your problem could be stress, but it would be real smart to go to the doctor and make sure. The dentist could probably tell you if the braces are causing the headaches." better safe then sorry!!!
