Im looking more into offense more than defence because I can't really stop the runner.

OK im 12 and looking forward for next year football team in 8th grade.

Im 5"6' and probably still growing and im pretty thick and big.
I can run fast for a big person
I can catch real good
I can tackle extremely hard
I can break tackles easily
i run with the ball real good
I got an above average arm that can throw straight
I weigh 145

I never played football with a team but i played with my friends (same age) and they all suggest I join the football team.

So what position

well since u mentioned u rather play offense then defense and say u can run fast and carry the ball good and ur a bigger kid. i would suggest fullback. fullback is one of the most underrated positions on the field but only by the fans all ur teammates will respect you because they know how hard a fullback has to work. you have to know a lot to play fullback like who to block what pass routes to run on some pass plays and what holes to run through, but i feel there is no other position on the field then fullback i played in middle school and loved it. You get to just hit people right in the mouth and still score touchdowns.

Also fullbacks are a dying breed so if you can really concentrate on it and become an above average fullback and keep growing the way it looks like you can grow and stay about 250 pounds and around 6'1" and keep decent speed you could def. get a scholarship to a good school. cus like i said not a lot of teams have fullbacks but thats only because its so hard to be a good fullback so if you can do that teams will be drooling all over you.

Just keep yourself in the best shape possible. When you try out for the team your coach will see your strong points and will steer you to a position where your talents will excel. At least that is what he should do. Once you become more familiar with team play, you may want to tryout for another position, on the offense or on the defense, than the one to which you were assigned. Listen well and learn. Everything is an experience which will determine your future.

It seems to me like you have above average size. You can never quite tell how you will develop at this point. The best thing to do is try out for your schools' team, listen to your coaches and work hard, at football and school.

I know that you said that you don't feel confident tackling but I think that you should concentrate on defense at first.
It is far more simple in it's approach in that you goal is not so much to execute a plan but to foul up someones plan. Stopping a runner is easy to learn if you have the physical gifts.
You would be huge linebacker at your age.

show up to tryouts. Tell the coach you have neve played on a team and want to give it a shot. He will put you in a couple scenarios and see where you fit. If you are good enough, he will give you a spot.

Since the coach picks I'd say QB or RB
