all you need to remember about rice is 1:2. A part of rice needs twice of water. Bring the rice into a slow boil for about 25 -30 minutes, stir it only for the bottom not to get burned.

how do I know? I've been cooking and eating rice myself ever since.

depends on what kind of rice you're using. If it's Minute Rice, I believe it takes less than 10 mins..if it's regular whole grain and if you followed the directions to the T, when the water is absorbed is when it's done(and the rice looks fluffy)Hope your Mom gets to feeling better soon!

If you can get to the store, buy some instant rice called SUCCESS rice, it's a boil in a bag deal, can't mess it up.
Good luck!

You usually cook it until all the water in the pot is gone. At this point when you taste the rice it will be easy to chew and very fluffy. I hope your mom feels better soon.

cook it until you see holes forming in the rice! thats the easiest way to tell and it will come out perfect.

if it's instant, it shouldn't take a minute or two. if it's not instant, take a peice out and see if it's squishy or not.

try a peice and see if it's tender enough.
