I carry hairspray too, and nothing has ever happened to me.
Yes, hairspray can explode in high pressure and heat. But unless it's over 100 degrees outside, it won't explode.
Never leave your hairspray in a closed car. It gets really hot.
Just make sure the cap is securely on, so it doesn't leak.

It's totally safe. I've been doing it for years. I have shirley temple curls so it always comes in handy! No it won't explode or something. However it's probably not a good idea to leave your pocketbook with the hairspray inside in the sun. That might have some kind of effect on it and all the other things in your purse! Keep your purse in a cool temp at all times.

Yes it is safe. I assume you don't put your purse on the burner just for laughs, do you? The can might explode if you heat it up. And even if it does explode, it's not like a huge blast, it more like a sudden hhhssssss..... and then it leaks out in your purse.
The only likely bad thing that might happen is the can might leak.
It is actually almost like a self-defense weapon. Pepper spay is better, but hairspray in the eyes of the offender is just as unpleasant.

Its safe.
I do the same thing.
The only problem I have ever had was when the cap has come off and it gets on my purse =/
Otherwise nothing can really happen there is nothing (I hope) in your purse that could puncture it, and nothing that can cause high enough heat for it to explode.
So your perfectly fine.

Yeah, you are safe. And if you get mugged you can spray the mugger. Hair spray is almost as good as pepper spray. It will do the job if sprayed into the attacker's eyes and NOT do any harm to you. Cop told me this long time ago.

If the cap is closed tightly, it shouldn't be a problem, unless you have contact with fire and extreme heat. It could also damage your cell phone or sometimes IPod if it leaks on them.

Yeah, but still in your purse, it can be under pressure. Also, it could leak.
