Ps. Just noticed the sculpture. Hmm. With sculpture its talking about the form. How is the form described. You can use the elements I listed below to get you started describing it. You can compare it to the style of other artists / countries who have created art works in this style.

This means what style the artist uses in the picture to create his/her interpretation of reality or subject.

The question is really asking what makes THIS artist work, his unique style is his "handwriting" different to another piece of art.

To do that you need to see how the artist used all the ELEMENTS of art.
1. style
2. shape
3. color
4. line
5. contrast
6. movement
7. balance
8. tone
9. texture

For example there's different cartoonists like say Schulz and Watterson.

How does Schulz draw the eyes on his characters?
How does Watterson do it?
Say with impressionist paintings - what brushstrokes are used?
Are they long short etc. what are the colors like? dark bold crooked timid?

I hope that's helping you get the gist of it

I could be wrong, but I would understand it as a painting that has elements of past styles/movements.

I would say this image:

has the stylistic features of cubism, especially Picasso's The Guitar Player. However, the colors used are more user are of modern graphic arts instead of the monotoned cubism pictures.
