I am not free from paying taxes on income, then more taxes on that net income when I use it to buy anything, including investing it, because I then get taxed again on the interest from my investments - hey, didn't we already fight about being taxed too much? Hmmm . . . 28% on income, 8% sales tax, 15% if short-term gain = 51% total, means I'm living on less than 1/1 of what I earn, because that doesn't even include FICA.
I have a very real fear of stinging insects because I had an allergic reaction, so I'm not free to go anywhere where I might get stung - no picnics, outdoor concerts, etc. Yet, I love to garden & have no fear of spiders or snakes.
I am not free to go stake a claim on any land I want & have a house built to my specifications without having to sign all kinds of contracts with realtors, towns, counties, builders & sub-contractors + pay each of them all kinds of fees, charges, commissions, etc.
With the drought this year, I am not free to wash my car. Living in an apt. I'm not free to be fully me because I have to be considerate of my neighbors.

I am not free romantically.
I am single, but I am so confused and don't know whats going on to the point where I can't be free to start down a new path.
I am not free financially.
I am 14, but am so young that nobody wants to hire me when there is a college of 30,000 students in the same city.
I am not free socially.
I do not always hang out with the people I want. I either flake out constantly, or am the only one trying to do something. I'm just too independent for long-term plans.
I am not free from my fears.
I don't like spiders. Marilyn Manson intimidates me. I don't like the dark, although I am not afraid of it. I do not like big dogs, especially ones that bark.
I am not free from my obsessions.
I fall hard and fast. I discovered Queen a few months ago, now I know a startling amount about all of them, up to knowing direct quotes, knowing who wrote what song, being able to easily distinguish between their voices and being able to tell you each persons life story.
I am not free from my low self-esteem of 6th grade.
I am better now. But those times still cause me to push people away constantly.

daily life. i am not yet 18 so the things that i want to do are limmited by authority.
fear- sometimes. when i am scared of things, i often want to stay far away from the problem. i try to realize my fear and find a way to get over it.
money- ofcourse, also being under 18, it is hard to find a good stable job. i always feel tight with money.
love- i feel totally free in love. if that is all i have, then i will be fine =]

i think we are most restricted by money... at least thats the thing we can all understand the restrictions of. we all like the idea of being able to live a fulfilled life without money... but we really really need it in order to survive this craziness.
love on the other hand should be the most freeing thing! we are free to love whomever we want. love is an endless thing... we can put out own restrictions on it. but at least thats something we can put our on controls on. :]
life is freedom. we do have the freedom to live. even if we were to die in the next second... our last breath was still one of life!
fear is also a guarantee.
life, fear and love are all things that we can internally control.
money is not. it is the only thing out of our hands...

I see a lot of people on the questions and answers asking how do we recover our lost freedoms. I don't know. I don't know which ones have been lost or taken from me. I am as free as a bird. I am indepently financially secure, I have a wife of 39 years, I fear nothing. I am not stupid, it is just that I do not scare. Free is a state of mind. No one can own you or take things away if you do not allow it. So I doubt this was much help but that is what I think.

We all have free will, but most of us are smart enough to ignore it. We know we have responsibilites that basically make us a slave to the rest of the world. We can't buy necessities without money so we must work to survive. This can be work at an office or even work at home in a garden for example. We must have some way to acquire the basics.

A person is not free when ever he needs a permit or license to do something. Having to get a permit or license means that you must get the permission of someone else, someone or some other organization.
If you are free, no permission is required so no permit or license would be needed.
