I never conquered, rarely came
16 just held such better days
Days when I still felt alive
We couldn't wait to get outside
The world was wide, too late to try
The tour was over we'd survived
I couldn't wait till I got home
To pass the time in my room alone

That's from a song, isn't it? The thought of time to spend can be better than the actual time spent, yes.

inm our minds the future is always better than the past if only that were true, in some cases it can,t be any worse than the past so that gives a little hope

ya I guess when we were young we thought we would be superstars or something. Then the reality of life kicks in and your dreams become so much more realistic.
I am still happy with it... life has more positive things than negative, no matter who you are :o)
