I know Jay-Z is up there in age...and there are a few older rappers too...but when are they going to become irrelevant... I dont think that there should be an age limit or anything...but at some point the young bucks aint trying to hear it...

This interested me cause Evil said he was going to retire from rapping but he has only been rapping for like a year or something...I QUIT rapping/writting like 5 years ago...way longer then most of the young Y!A careers here...

Im 28...Once I finished college and got a job(5 years ago)...all the rapping/freestyling/writing just stopped...I enjoy reading the rhymes on here...but I stay away from the "keystlying"...it gets addictive..

If you are truely talented at what you do, why would someone have to give up, what they are good at. Age has nothing to do with capability. There are artists out there who have been producing music for decades, more power to them I say!

Some one like JD, not soon enuf, but someone like Dre I would hope as long as possible. But an old guy rappin isn't very attractive, so i guess 40 is a bit too old, but guys like Jay Z or Dre are in the game their own way, producing, or breaking in new artists.

I'd say 45 no matter how good you are. Throw in the towel settle down with your family and stop hanging around groupies on tour, or swicth to blues at that age

Not an age thing, just a talent thing. I'd still listen to somebody like Immortal Technique or Nas no matter how old they are.

No age limit, as long as you can recognize in your lyrics of what the streets are talking about and provide knowledge of self.

i say 40..if even that old...a lot of the rappers (not all, but a lot) lose their material once they become rich and famous and dont have the "real" stuff to be rapping about anymore..just seems wack to me when they have millions and they are still rapping about ruling their hood when they living in hollywood and crap. but some can keep it real and still relate to their listeners for quite some time..so props to anyone who can do that for as long as they can..despite their age.
