The meanings of names are important to me, so I will just share the meanings in hope this will be of help.

"Noa" is Hebrew for movement. So as long as you don't name her Bowel Noa, it might be okay. "Grier" is (according to two of my baby books) a variant spelling of "Greer," though it has a harsher sound to it. If it's a family name, then I'm betting the baby will be proud to wear it. Otherwise, it's just someone else's surname (yes, it's a last name) and may just sound like it was picked randomly. Say it quickly three times. Do you like the sound of it?

Ryan is one of several spellings for the Celtic word that means "king." Will your sister one day wonder if her folks wanted another boy instead of a girl and revealed that in the choice of name? Most of my grown women friends who have "gender-bending" names like Ryan eventually resent it. They wouldn't mind a name that could be either female or male but not a name that is 100% male in meaning. A king is a male ruler, no exceptions. Nicole is the feminine form of Nicholas, but at least it is not the male version.

I suspect your family narrowed to these names swiftly without doing the research it takes to avoid names that will not be appreciated once the child is much older. 'Sorry to be a downer, but I don't think you would have asked if you didn't want honesty.

I LOVE the name Ryan!
**Ryan Nicole is beautiful!

honestly speaking~ Grier is kinda different for a middle name. I personally have only heard it in the form of a last name. But Noa is Cute.

Gender: Masculine

Usage: English

From a surname that was derived from the first name GREGORY

Certainly Noa Grier.

Noa was the oldest of a group of sisters in the Bible who succesfull argued for their father's land after his death-- originally they would not have got it since they were only daughters. So the name has a strong heritage to it. I think that it is a beautiful name.

Good luck chosing for sure! If she looks tough but pretty, I would definately go with Noa Grier!
