Ugly dumb people are there for comic relief.
But in movies, almost everyone is one of the 'beautiful people' and people watch them, wishing they were so beautiful too..
Movies are a form of escapism. Most of the time I'd rather read a book. Then I can mentally draw in the flaws. I hate being told what to think.
