Her books have been the fastest selling books in History.
She is the richest Woman in UK, richer than the Queen. Yes, She is richer than Queen Elizabeth II.

It's Rowling by a landslide. She'd the only billionaire author (at least the only one that BECAME a billionaire from writing a book)

Technically speaking, however, it would be Bill Gates. He's the richest man in the world to have also written a book.

well, stephen king has probably made more from selling books alone, but rowling has certainly made more money from her films and merchandising.

they're both filthy rich and quite lucky. most writers aren't as handsomely rewarded as those two.
