i have a really good desktop pc 19 inch lcd moniter 2 gigs ram 200g hard drive dual core processors etc.. i want to sell it and buy a laptop for the reason because labtops are portabale should i ?

if the laptops specs are good then yes, i recommend the DELL XPS laptops. They're awesome we have 4 in our family.

Depending what you need it for. If you're a gamer make sure you get the video card inside that will suit your games. For most productivity apps, you should be able to find a laptop to suit your needs. I prefer a laptop because I can take my work with me, as well as my music and pictures which allows me to share with others. As well, I can do powerpoints and stuff. A desktop is good if you don't need to do this stuff.

The other thing to consider if you want to update it in the future. Desktops are much more flexible to update and can extend the time you can enjoy the machine. Laptops usually all you can do is add RAM and hard drive space.

If you need portability, then yes. If you'll never move it, stay with the desktop, you get more computer for the same money (or the same computer for less money).
