Not technically...so long as she is provided with all the basic necessities.

But on that note, morals are developed at a very young age. If her morals are strong, she does not need to be locked up in her room. Oh, and fyi, girls who lead a very sheltered lives often find it difficult to get along with others and develop within society.

Just teach her to be true to herself, and her morals because her true character will show when her folks aren't watching. Hope this helps! : )

Talks not locks.

She's quickly becoming an adult, and locking her up will teach her nothing but to have less respect for ya.

What I did and still do with both of my teens, is to say... "ya know, I've taught you right from wrong, and I can't be there 24/7 to watch your actions anymore. I love you, and I'm gonna trust you make the right decisions."

So far, so - excellent.

I should add, that after I say that, they beam and stand/sit up extra straight, as if they've gotten a new sense of integrity every time. :)

Legally no (as long as it isn't for a really long period of time and she isn't starving or being prevented from attending school, etc.) but morally yes, it is very wrong. If you taught your daughter throughout her life to have your values you wouldn't have to worry about having to protect her "moral integrity" because she would take care of that herself.

I agree with Janis616. If you have to lock her up that means shes biting at the chains wanting to do it. Believe me there is no determination like a teenager. If she wants to do that, she will.

You would be better off moving, that stops a lot of bad behavior because it removes them from their bad influences. By the time they make new friends, they hopefully make better ones and are alittle older. This happens a lot faster with girls.

Turn her lose and tell her everything she does she will pay for herself, you wont have to do a thing.

i would say that was down right evil could you imagine been locked up?and as a teenager the rebellious streak they all possess would have any parent charged with imprisonment you got to bit your lip and say no and tell them to watch the news rapes and all kinds of nasty evil crimes amongst young women

depends. how u mean by "locked up". does she eat, use the bathroom, shower, go to school? if she's under 18..it would be considered ok as long as ur not putting ur hands on her..but u can't actually LOCK her in her room. u could tell her she cant go out after school and such...but actually locking her up? child abuse!

Wow, you're a real winner. Is this the best you could come up with after all this time as a parent?
