the v1710 allison engine was in the bell p39 aircobra was in that airplane, and what other WW2 aircrafts had the allison engine???

no the only other engine except the Merlin was the griffon engine.
But many pilots said that a spit with a griffon engine wasn't a real spitfire. This was because the airplane didn't feel the same because the griffon engine his sense of rotation was opposite of the Merlin and his running wasn't so smoothly as the Merlin ( it was a rolls royce engine after all )

No they didnt I worked at Detroit Diesel Allison. The v1710 was In our P-40 Warhawks and the engine while it was a great engine had its faults--Rate of Climb and Operating Ceiling. The P-39 was a fighter of the early 30s--1934-37 it was then replaced by the P-40. Also the P-38 Lightnings a twin engined Night Fighter had the Allison engine which they later replaced with the Merlin-Rolls. Plant 2 In INDIANAPOLIS also made the Cd850 Transmission for the Sherman Tank!!!!

No. One of the great advantages of the Spitfire was its Rolls Royce Merlin
