I absolutely agree with you, I don't care either and I find the whole thing a pandering by even the so-called 'respectable' media to the lowest common denominator of public taste.
But they do it because there is money in it, it boosts the circulation of print media and increases the ratings of commercial TV which enhances their advertising revenues.
It is a sad commentary on the quality and content of the media and the public's mindless addiction to the cult of the celebrity.

I think that the media is more obsessed with these people than we are. The only reason we follow any of it is because it's everywhere and it's constantly shoved down our throats- whether you're waiting in line at the supermarket, or you're watching the evening news.
It reminds me of highschool in the sense that you wanna know everything about the personal lives of your peers....what they're wearing, who they're dating, etc.
Our world is celebrity obsessed & it's absolutely disgusting. Nothing is what it's used to be. I mean just think about it. Can you imagine someone like Britney Spears living in the 50's?
I'll stop ranting now : )

I agree, it isn't all of us. It is the media wanting that million dollar photo or "breaking news story". Most of us could give a crap less, except those who have no life people and buy those stupid rag magazines!!!
The news media is 99% at fault, 1% the bored public.....
p.s. isn't it absurd, somewhere a nurse is putting in an IV tube into a premature baby the size of a human hair, he/she probably makes diddly squat, works ungodly hours, gets NO public notoriety, but oh my god, Brittney or Paris blah blah blah blah...........
ABSURD!!!!!

It isn't us, it is the media, Without it we would not know or care.
I watched the news the other night. There was another slum fire. This has nothing to do with me and is only trivia.
