I don't see a chord chart.

This web site has chord charts for several chords.
http://www.8notes.com/guitar_chord_chart/

If you go there and look at the first one, the C Major chord, the vertical lines in the chord diagram represents the strings and the horizontal lines represents the frets. The heavy dark line at the top of the diagram represents the nut, the white piece at the base of the head piece of the guitar. The frets are numbered starting with the fret immediately following the nut, which includes both the space and the next fret wire closes to the top of the diagram. The white circles on the strings (vertical lines) represent where your left hand fingers would be placed. The numbers indicates which finger to use (index finger is 1, middle is 2, ring is 3 and pinky is 4) and the placement of the circle on the diagram corresponds to the fret positions where your finger should be placed.

The "o" at the top of the diagram indicate that you should sound that string "open" (ie without fingeringit with you left hand fingers). The "x" at the top of the diagram is used to indicate strings that are not to be sounded.

What chord chart might you be talking about? Link?

As for drop D its; it's taking the low e string and "dropping" or tuning down from E to D. This technique is commonly used in mostly hard rock, metal, etc.
