there is always a chance especially in the NFC........the vikings could make the playoffs with good running with AP and Taylor and then some playaction .....but they do really need a QB that can keep from getting injured...jackson is just to injury prone.....and i dont seem him as a great fit in with the vikings....but i hope the vikings could actually do something for once....

Well i sure hope so but the fact of the matter is that as of right now we don't even know who our Quarterback is for next week. Adrian Peterson is just plain and simple a excellent back, and if anyone thinks that his collarbone is an issue, well just watch him run. I don't think that i can honestly count more than maybe 1 time when Adrian has not lowered his shoulder and get and extra 3 - 5 yards...or in some case and extra 65 yards. But if we keep running sooner or later there is going to be nine guys in the box to shut down Adrian, so all we need to do is find a way so t-jack or who ever the quarter back is of the week to give troy, bobby wade, Sidney rice, and Robert Ferguson time to get open deep and deliver a perfect strike. The d has been great at times and then not so spectacular at times. the only problem that needs to be adjusted is the pass rush/ pass coverage.
So with a win next week vs. the pack, the season might shift, and the vikings will make the playoffs with a 10-6 or a 9-7 record and be a wild card.
Go Vikes!!!

As a Viking fan, that would be be great but it going to be a tough. Half way through the season and you have only one loss separating the Packers and the Lions, They will need to to turn one hell of game against the Packers in Green Bay next Sunday. Back to the Dome the following week against the Raiders, we could be sitting at 5-5 going into the Thanksgiving week against the Giants in New York. They're going to need some help for them to even make it as a wild card team. With home games against the Lions, Bears and the Redskins and on the road in Denver at season's end its a tough sell.

Honestly, no. The Vikings just have NO passing game, and you can't win a game just by running the football. If they get a new quarterback and some wideouts, and improve on defense in the offseason, they yes in a couple of years the Vikings will make the playoffs. But as of now, no. Cheers! :]

As weak as the NFC is maybe but I doubt it. Peterson is a top notch RB but their O is very one dimensional with a lack of a quality QB, lack of quality WRs or a TE. Their run D is very solid but being last in the NFL in pass D shows their lack of a pass rush, good cover LBs, and suspect DBs. I don;t see a winning record or a playoff spot for the Vikes.

I agree with your take on the wild card. The way the Vikings have played so far, I feel they deserve to be in the play-offs.
To others, stop over-hyping Adrian Peterson. I have mad respect for Purple Jesus (Peterson) but saying that he's a future Hall of Famer (might be true) in the middle of his ROOKIE season is a bit far fetched. Im not hating on him in any way. Just dont over hype him. The way he runs, his career might be over before it get's past the rookie stage.

It would take a resurgence in the passing game to lift this team to play-off contention.
Things are looking better, but the Vikings should capitalize on the Peterson / Taylor running game, not just rely on it.

Solid defense? They have the worst pass defense in the NFL.

No chance, you have no QB or WR. Plus, theirs still no bet the coach will start AP which is crazy after his last game!
Next year maybe.
