Sad books
I am currently reading The Lovely Bones
and its amazing. I need books that
are most likely in my school library.
Books that are well known
and for an 8th grader.

Good for you. Lovely Bones is a great book. Before I begin, I'm begging you not to read Meg Cabot, Sarah Desson, Lisi Harrison, and the like. I gaurantee that if you liked Lovely Bones, you'll love some of these other books. Steer clear of the teen girl "he broke up with her" kind of books. You're better than that!
I'll recommend:
The Diary of Anne Frank
To Kill a Mockingbird
The Secret Life of Bees
Bee Season
East of Eden
The Bell Jar
Flowers for Algernon
The Book Thief
Pay it Forward
A Wrinkle in Time
Tuesdays with Morrie
The Kite Runner
The Freedom Writer's Diary
The Giver
Fahrenheit 451
The Outsiders
