Is this strange strange or unusual? I like to have conversations with people in my head. We can talk about anything, and it's usually the same people, whichever ones are up to talking with me. They even have names. I've been talking to them for years, and I thought it was completely normal until I heard that it was weird to hear voices in your head. They haven't told me to do anything bad yet, so I don't see the problem. Should I get help? Or am I find talking to them?

It's perfectly normal as long as it does not effect your daily life. It's just a way of "practicing" for what is going on around you. Some people need to run through things before they happen. Many of them (like you) prefer to create "conversations" so you can see how things will go. If you feel it's becoming a problem, ask for some help.

I can't say for sure at this distance, but I don't think you have a problem. Crazy people who hear voices are actually talking to themselves. They don't open their mouths, but they move their vocal muscles. It can be detected with instruments.

Let me put it another way. There's a difference between imagining you're a princess and believing you're a princess.

By the way, "Sybil" is not a true story. There may have been such a person, but her hallucinations were the work of a novelist.

Tell the folks I said hi!

Is it interfering with your daily functioning? Can you make them "come and go" at will or do they seem to have a life of their own? Do you have other issues, like feeling socially awkward or hygiene issues?
It sounds like it's just be your unique self-talk style. If it reaches a point where it's interfering with your daily life then you might want to talk with a professional about it.

OMG i know what you mean!! It's like myself and my conscienous are always having these conversatoins that never leave my head. We debate over lots of stuff..it's weird...I think I'm a bit loony ..you know what they say about lefties, artists, and muscians..and I happen to be all three.
But really unless the voice is starting to get a bit evil or you're talking to it aloud..you're fine.

thats not that strange. sometimes ill ahve conversations in my heead to fugure out what i shoudl say to a person before actually speaking to them. ssometimes, people just need a mental lift so they can prepare for something- like a big speech or soemthing. if you think its normal, then who cares what anyoen else thinks.

I sometimes do that when i am alone.
I don't think i am crazy but I am alone in my house and the things I talk about doesn't interest others.

Just don't let it control your social life.
Even if i talk to myself I still have my friends.

it sounds like you have a vivid imagination. Read "Sybil" to get an idea of what multiple personalities are like- true story.
