In different times of my life it always seems like I can relate it to different songs. Lately Nobody Home by Pink Floyd has been my life in a nutshell. Other music that I would describe my other times in life would be songs like The Weight by The Band, That's The Way and The Rain Song by Led Zeppelin, Let It Be by the Beatles, I Wanna Be Sedated by the Ramones and After The Goldrush by Neil Young. There are tons more but it would take hours to remember...
What songs/albums describe times in your life (difficult or not) and why?

Ain't it Fun - Deadboys
The perfect song when you're feeling old and jaded.

Venus in Furs - Velvet Underground
The song for when you've had a long night and are just wishing you were at home already rather than still fourteen miles from bed. (Also seems to work fourteen steps away.)

Sunday Morning Coming Down - A Brassknuckle Boys cover of an old Johnny Cash tune.
The perfect thing for waking up hungover or drunk and drinking your way to a noon kickoff. This version has enough fire to get you up and mobile for day two of a long weekend.

I guess this says something about my weekend.

Ask me another day and you'd get the Grateful Dead's Going down the Road or Sugar Magnolia, Neil Young's Rockin' in the Free World, Weezer's Beverly Hills, DEVO's Through Being Cool, Suicidal Tendencies' Institutionalized, the Kinks' Superman, the Meat Puppets' Lost on the Freeway, or Violent Femmes' American Music.

Almost forgot Bullet with Butterfly Wings by the Smashing Pumpkins

- Go / Staying Together For The Kids by Blink-182. I really liked those songs when my parents were going through divorce when i was 9 through 13. It was healing.
- Baby Come On - (+44) I have problems with alcohol, depression etc. For some reason, this song made it a little bit easier. I dont really know why.
- The Ballad Of Big Poppa And Diamond Girl by Cobra Starship. Not really a normal "couple song" cuz it's dance-y pop punk, but it was me and my boyfriends song. It makes me smile.
- These Words by Natasha Bedingfield... not normally my style of music, but this one just brings back happy memories of summer 06. That was a really happy summer, as well as a summer of lot of changes - some of them really bad.
- Anything by The Beatles makes me feel better to, dont know why.
- Forget What You Know - Midtowns final album... this one was a really serious, heavy album. It came out when I was 12, and my parents divorce was still happening. It has nothing to do with kids and divorces, but it helped alot with my depression, drinking, sadness about parents etc. It helped me through my painful times, and it still does =) And no, i'm not emo.

Sounds of Silence and Bridge over Troubled Waters when I was younger. Parsley, Sage , Rosemary and Thyme as I became me!
Time in a Bottle, almost anything by Neil Diamond , Jim Croce or the Eagles. Because they seem to be my life experiences.....
Music does seem to describe our transitions...currently Wiccan chants.....are me and I am they. Blessed be.

In 2001, well that was a hard year for me and Linkin Park had debuted, the song Crawling in particular helped me alot. I made the transition from crappy lovey dovey pop music to rock that year, and Im so happy now that Ive found artsist who can actually right decent music that I can say "Hey, I know how it feels"
