You can buy handmade platinum or gold flutes that cost tens of thousands of dollars. Is that what you mean ?
Or do you just mean good quality factory-made flutes?

Expensive Flutes

i like the wood flute from sankyo with silver mechanism and 10k white gold springs. After obtaining the raw material called, Grenadilla, it is left to air dry for 10 year.

The material then goes through another stringent screening process and only one third of the material finally ends up being formed into a flute.

Created with the careful application of time and energy, the sound, which can be said to be the original sound of the flute, expends a sense of maturity.

the link also have people that uses the flute.

There are different types of head joint choices, traditional cut, modern cut or the one with lip plate. This flute isn't the most expensive (should be near to 10 k) but i think that it is the flute that i would most desire to get.

You probably don't really want the most expensive flute - if he's in that market then he knows exactly what he wants.

My Altus was $7200 and it's nowhere near the most expensive though it is the best that I could buy at the time. A truly fine instrument indeed.

The Sankyo K18-5ST is only $50,250 at flute world. The Burkart BSGB is only $33,000.

Ohh, I wish I had enough money for a professional flute!

Some brands to start with are Altus (my personal favorite so far!!), Pearl, William Haynes, Powell, Muramatsu (lots of famous flutist use this brand), and of course there's always Yamaha and Geminhardt which are great, but probably not what he is looking for.

Hope he finds what he is looking for! (He ought to get a handmade one)
