I just can't seem to get my homework done lately, for instance, today i wanted to get my homework done with 1st thing and now it's 8:16 and I'm only done with one assignment, the problem is, is that i get so distracted by checking on my latest rss feeds and fav. web sites. i need some help with focusing on my homework, what is the cause of my lack of focus, is their something i can do to help myself?

It's lack of interest. You probably have some sort of ADHD as well. I hate to diagnose something like that because I'm not a doctor...but my son has the same problem and he does have adhd.

My advice to you is do your homework with a friend...you need someone to keep you on track. This could be a serious problem later on in life if you don't get a handle on it. My son finally has control of it. He has to do homework at the kitchen table, away from TV, Ipod, Radio, & computer...my son also got his class rank which was a slight eye opener...now he's trying really hard to get into that top 10%.

Good Luck sweetie...just concentrate.

I have this problem happen to me all the time. The way that works for me is:

- get the little tasks done first, this way you will be able to work up to the bigger assignments
- take a break every 20-30 minutes, this way you can clear your head and come back fresh, you can take the few minutes to check the websites that distract you.
- turn off anything that's really distracting (i.e. television, music)
- get the motivation to work, think to yourself that once you get all this work done you'll have all the free time to do whatever without the worry.

Good luck!

Like the first poster said, it's a symptom of ADD or ADHD. I have ADD, im a 26 year old female and it was discovered late in me so I'm on medicine.

Adderall helps
So does Vyvanse
Strattera

Check with your doctor and see what you can do!

completely disconnect the whole computer from the internet, or the whole computer completely, until you don't know how to get it back up. if you know how to work computers, though, that might not help. but don't connect it until you know youare abble to concentrate with your work. f it's something important, go to a library or something. but try your hardest to ignore all your personal sites.

that's all i can really think of.
hope it helps!
