Yes, after high school a girl and I were sharing an apt. We were always broke and put in just enough gas to get by. We were forever running out-day or night, we lived in WV and towns were far apart. Seems like some one always came along before to long and helped us though. The car was always breaking down too, we got to where we could fix it better than most of the guys who stopped to help.

When I had my 1972 Plymouth Duster I ran out of gas at least two times because the gas gauge was off. I was working at a camp in the mountains of Pennsylvania(PA) and I went out on a Weds. night. We were allowed to be out as long as we returned by 11. I was with three other counselors. We had gone out to dinner and to a movie.
It was getting near 11 and I was driving fast to get back to the camp on time, the car ran out of gas. We decided to just sleep in the car and find a gas station in the morning. Yes, we got in big trouble!!

My gas line froze on the trans canada hwy, 100's of miles from anywhere. It was 3 AM and I was stranded and freezing.
I was in danger of freezing to death. No traffic.
This guy finally stopped and against my better judgement I accepted a ride from him, it took about 5 minutes to figure out he was stoned out of his skull - on something -
I didnt think I would live to get to the next city, he was acting totally psycho - so I didnt say a word, just prayed that he wasnt going to kill me.
He stopped at a light when we got there and I jumped out and ran like hell -- that was real scary !!!!!!!

I was going up to visit my mom on my motorcycle. There's a pet co.ck under the tank. When 2 gallons is used up, there's a reserve of .9 gallon. I forgot to put it back on NORMAL before I left on my trip. A few miles from my mom's, I went to the Veterans' cemetery to visit my dad's grave. When I left, I had just gotten a few yards up from the cemetery, out in the middle of NOWHERE, Slower Lower Delaware and the bike started sputtering. I reached down to switch it to reserve and found it was already on reserve! I was about 3 miles from the nearest gas station. There was a mental institution (Stokely Center...my mom always said she had a rubber room reserved...now she's buried next door to it!) next door to the cemetery and a guy was coming out of the ground maintenance compound. He went back in to get some gas..NONE. So he went to his house about a mile away, got some gas and poured it into my tank. I just took about a quart because I 'knew' I could make it to the Texaco up the road. As I turned through the intersection, I ran out of gas again...and coasted into the station.

yes, on a long stretch of Montana highway. Luckily a trucker gave us a lift to the gas station.

No thank god I have never run out in my life. I never let it get below 1/4 tank to help protect the fuel pump so I always have a little reserve to go on. knock on wood.

I notice that all your questions are about
cars with problems. that is exactly why
I DON'T HAVE A CAR. Now I don't
have those problems,or any others
(with cars).
