Were you ever hit as a child?

Question

I mean being "disciplined" as a child(let's say under the age of 18) by being struck. This includes spanking, or with belts or with any other object.

I just want to see how common or uncommon this is.

Yea of course. I'm seventeen now and have not been beaten since I was about 11. My discipline is one of the reasons I am so well behaved now.

No.. I normally got sent to my room, which is a good thing. I don't think slapping or hitting someone with a belt solves anything.. it just hurts your kids and will eventually make your children scared of you or scared to make a mistake. :[ All of you parents out there who do this.. you're taking the wrong approach. But for you question.. it is pretty common even though it shouldn't be.

I was spanked as a child whe necessary or sometimes a switch on the legs. It didn't happen often as the sting of the punishment was a good deterrent :)

When I was little, I was spanked a few times. My mom used to use the wooden spoon, and once she broke it and had to use a pan..
