I can understand that you are upset. Regardless of color we are all people. The situation is messed up. There are three sides to every story: the right side, the wrong side, and the truth. I'm not calling you a liar; I'm not calling your sister a liar and I'm not passing judgment on anyone, but unless you were there to witness the whole thing all we can say is damn. And as far a the white trash/black trash thing goes if you treat yourself like trash and act like trash then that's just what you are, regardless of color.

That is really weird. But before you get too mad, think; did your sister to anything to aggravate this girl? Jen could have been taught not to take any crap from anyone, and then took it to the next level. Or she could just be a bully, looking for reason to be mean.
But yes, I do agree that was pretty childish and stupid of Jen.
If the bullying persists, your sister should report it to the principal or a school consular (not to sound like a parent).

Sounds to me like this girl is very angry. Your sister doesn't want to look like a pushover, but she might be surprised that she can break through this with some sort of display of emotion that will not feed the girls confrontational style or anger.
She could look completely shocked and say, "Why would you say something racist like that? That really hurts my feelings, as it would yours. I would never say something to you like that because it's mean! So can you just be cool and get along with me? I'm not that bad, if you get to know me!"
If the girl persists then your sister can just shrug, and gently say, "Well, I'm sorry. I tried." And then slip past her.
I dunno. It's hard to deal with the mindset of a racist. Maybe I am being too logical, just trying to turn it around. But I am guessing that this girl has never had her anger met with kindness. It may completely take her off guard. The idea is that your sister needs to always make a pact with herself that she will ALWAYS take the high road. She will feel better about herself, and she will know that she won.

Unfortunately, there is still prejudice among whites and blacks, even with Civil Rights and the trend in society to treat everyone as equals. There is also jealousy among teenage girls, no matter what their ethnic background. It's just a normal type of childish rivalry, which hopefully they will outgrow when they reach adulthood. I agree with you that we are all people, regardless of the color of our skin or our background. It would be a perfect world if we could all get along, but prejudice has existed since the beginning of time, and it probably won't end any time soon.

Unforuntately, you will learn in this world that there are groups to protect every race except the white race. You better watch what you say, but others can insult your race and guess what? No one really seems to care.
People should just be people I agree, but it is wrong that racial intolerance is acceptable for some but not others.
Sorry if this seems harsh, but I have worked in the school system and seen a lot.

you are right. There are bad and good people in any race or class.
The bad things just seem more outrageous because they make you afraid. The good things are never repeated, never written about.
If I saw that girl, I would tell her
be the change you want to see in the world.
anger and hate doesn't do it, never has in all the history of people.
there have been a few very, very intelligent men (and women) who tried to tell us that.
perhaps in a different climate you sister would have sat down beside the girl and ask her what was hurting her. Perhaps she needed someone to talk to and it was more important than being late for french.
or should we all start carrying knives and guns?

The girl Jen is a bully. She has to pick on the weak because she is unhappy herself. Bullies are usually bullied at home. Your sister should avoid her at as much as she can. This is a cheap trill for Jen.
This type of thing happens at all schools. High school drama is one thing I do not miss.

This is crazy. There are people in are school are different races and we all hang out together. One of my best friends is black. This is crazy and deffiantly should be reported to the school board (not because of your sister because Jen). Myabe the entire school needs a good lesson on races.

Some people just can't get past the whole race thing. It was immature what the girl did, but I wouldn't let it bother you or your sister. I think no matter what the race, there are always going to be people who try to belittle others. Just tell your sister to hold her head up high, and not to sink to her level.

What is your question, exactly? Was it stupid? Yes... but you know that already. What's with the whole white/black trash thing? Racism/discrimination is not anything new. I think you could have saved your 5 pts here.
