I was really good at algebra last year and I got great grades all the way through because I could understand it. This year, however, I have geometry and I just can't grasp it and it's making me so frustrated! I don't get why it's so hard for me! It's making me feel so stupid. What can I do to make it a little easier to understand? How come I understand algebra and not geometry?

Life is like that. Algebra and geometry require different conceptual ways of learning. Algebra stresses skills, geometry, logic. In part, this is because the algebra people are different from the geometry people. You could actually solve math problems using a geometry format. But fear not, once your course gets going, the algebra will kick in.

Because Geometry is a concepts class and Algebra is based on numbers. I had trouble with Geometry, too, and I went on to Algebra II the next year and did fine. Just ask questions and get through that horrible class, and it will get better next year.

Many people who are good at algebra are terrible at geometry and vice versa. It's because algebra is pure numbers and geometry is a lot of shapes. Your brain has to work differently to process them.

Algebra is logical. Geometry is spacial. You could have a very logical brain, but not a very spacial one. With some work, you'll find that Geometry can be something you'll enjoy.
