Ever heard the saying "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" ?

Both have a common enemy in Israel. Syria also knows that if it ever went up against Israel militarily it would get crushed (like the last three times)

So they use proxies like Hezbollah that do not mind being cannon fodder.
