I am a fan of building plastic model vehicles, like cars, trucks, and military craft. You remember these models as a kid - playing with the X-Acto knife and the dizzying model glue. I like to make models look as authentic as possible, but I would like to make some of them look crashed or junky...how would I go about doing this? How do you take a completed model and turn it into a junkyard creation?

Also, are there any websites or groups associated with this sort of thing? Basically, I want to destroy some finished models, but make it look like they were supposed to be built that way. Thanks for the help.

Meet mr hammer, but for a second we're going to pretend he's a WWII AA turret.

J/k. I have a few ideas.

heat (not with a flame) some no esental parts of the car (like maybe the hood) and warp it. Then, while it's still hot, bend it to a fassion so it looks like it has dents in it. Then, when painting, paint with a copper coating, and take a quater and vigeriousally flake most of it off, then apply a good color pant and do the same, but less rough.

All I can come up with, sorry.

My suggestion is heat. Either a hair dryer or a grill lighter (the long kind).

I must say your idea is great and very creative!

heat from a hair drier is good, if you want it to have a burnt look use a scented candle to heat with, the scent makes it look burnt, plus you add your dents, i build a lot myself, and can get you into several places for help, and posting your builds. contact me and ill hook you up!!!
