most emo people are depressed and emotionally unstable so when they are cutting there self all they see is blood they don't fell any pain but they think that by cutting themselves its cutting the person that is hurting them its all physicollogical its nothing you would ever understand unless you have been through it or was effected by someone who did it

It makes them feel better. Not just Emos, but a lot of other people out there. If they didn't cut then they might resort to drugs. Some people that cut get comfort from it. Cutting also released endorphins (happy chemicals). Also, cutters probably feel like they have some control over their life if they can hurt themselves. Or they might just do it out of sadness - one of my friends has an overbearing father and was really depressed and started cutting. Luckily she stopped now.

I believe they cut them selves to focus on physical pain rather than emotional pain. Emos have a VERY hard time dealing with emotional pain. It's a disorder and they can't handle feelings such as Depression, Anxiety, Fear and Anger. Therefore, they cut themselves to focus on a pain they can actually handle.

Anyhow, I think they see this pain...as better than the pain they're feeling?

EMOS do it for attention.
REAL DEPRESSED PEOPLE cut themselves to get their minds off of the emotional pain of real life with physical pain.

It's the "new" goth..so I'm guessing they are just "cutters". They just like to bleed and feel the pain..

emo = people! LOL they are just normal people who do stuff liek that to get attention, YES TO GET ATTENTION. they might deny that but its the truth. different people do different things to get attention.
