Good topic are things that will catch the readers attention, like about health issues, for example, "Did you know the average American eats (insert amount) (insert food) in their life time?" This sort of antidote would be about a paper leading to discussion on obese America or more specifically the rise in obese children in America. So some good topics are:
*Obese America- Why we have seen the numbers of obesity go up so fast in the recent years.
*Global Warming- What, where, and why its happening. How we can lessen it.
*Equality in the work place- Do women get paid less than men, and who is more likely to get a promotion first.
*Nuclear Family statistics- How do children develop not having certain figures in their life ie mother, father etc. How do children do in school when parents are actively involved or not.
*Diabetes
The ups and downs of the economy over the last decade or longer
*Is bio-fuel better than regular gasoline? If so, how? How is it made, does it save money? etc
*Teen parents
*Preservatives in food
****Psychology through the ages- get info on Pavlov's dogs, Freud, and Maslow. There are so many theory's out there you'd have to narrow it down to one specific area like dream analysis, fight or flight, learned behaviors, or a really fun one would be phobias how people get them and how to tell if you really have one.****this is the one I would do, so much to work with and learn a lot of fun stuff whether you use all of it or not. Good Luck!
