my boyfriend and me have been together for 17mths Im 38 he is 35 I have kids he does'nt he has been making little remarks about getting married my question does a man bring up marriage unless it is in his head I never bring it up but he does qiuet often but he wont ask me whats up???

He is thinking about marriage, that's for sure. I think he is hinting for you to give him some input. He is just picking a wife (who happens to have some kids). You are not only picking a husband, but also a father for your kids. Maybe you need to make your feelings clear to him, ie.. you love him dearly, would love to spend the rest of your life with him, think he would be a great father, your kids adore him, etc. After some discussions, maybe you should ask him to marry you, if he doesn't ask you. Our niece faced the same situation and told her boyfriend, "Look, if you don't ask me to marry you by the 4th of July, I am going to ask you to marry me." He got the message and (just for spite) proposed to her on July 3rd. Good luck.

Hes testing to see what your feelings and thoughts are on it. Otherwise, he would steer clear of the subject.

my guess would be since he brings it up - he is thinking about it.
just come out and ask him if hes thinking he wants to get married.
or be blunt and say listen I appreciate the little comments - if your thinking about it,maybe you should ask
He is probably thinking about it,but nervous to ask - maybe hes afraid youll say no

Yes, I think that he is just ...testing the field, to see how your reaction would be. My advice, though is :
DON"T be the one that asks him...let him ask you, if not, you will never know if he really wanted to propose and it was HIS choice, or he did it because he didn't want to offend you.
