My dad was a big fan of his books, I think he must have read them all. We were cleaning the garage, I asked him if he wanted us to give it away. He said, "No those will be worth money someday."

We had to give them away after he died. I'm just wondering if anyone else read any?

Yes I have read all of them. I used to have over 100 paperbacks. Louis L'Amour was an adventurous man. He shared those experiences through the characters in his books. He was I believe a man of high character and decency. When I read his books I felt like I was there. I could feel the heat of the desert, the misery of the rain storm, smell the horses and hear the creak of the saddle leather. Much about life and how one should live can be learned from his books. I loved every one of them.

Yes I have read a lot of L'Amour's books. I enjoyed a lot of them.
As they are all still in print, and available at the library, I believe your father would have had to wait quite a long while before they were worth any money. I am glad you gave them away - at least you are sharing the joy of reading with others.
I am sorry that you lost your father.

Yes, I did! L'Amour had begun writing a new series when he died. Too bad his best books were is last half dozen by far.

If you look at questions under who's your favorite author, Louis L'Amour's name ususally shows up.

I read 'The Daybreakers, Sackett, The Sackett Brand, Treasure Mountain, Mustang Man. I loved the Sacketts. Especially William Tell Sackett. He was my favorite of all of them.

Thank you for jarring that memory.

Yes, I love to read or watch westerns. My mom used to date a guy that had all his books, he was a huge fan. It's nice you can remember things your dad enjoyed.

My X and I used to read Louis all the time, we would snuggle up in bed and I would read a chapter and then he would read one, then I would fall asleep and he would say, hey--no snoring till you finish your chapter!!
He had a great sense of humor and his mysteries were good too.

I have every book he wrote, even the ones written by a family member who wrote books from his notes after his death.
