Iran refuses to bow to the mighty USA, they have been like that since over throwing a US supported dictator.
Soon, Pakistan is going to collapse into civil war the US will intervene. After driving the US out Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iran will form a nuclear armed alliance for self protection.
The big one comes next.

Iran says they're only developing nuclear technology for peaceful purposes. The current administration believes they are pursueing nuclear weapons. The US is stretched pretty thin in Iraq and Iran knows it so are defiant. Its anybody's guess where this thing will go. The US will find it mighty hard to find any allies to help with another war.

As for WWIII, don't worry. It's been going on ever since we invaded Iraq on false pretenses. We are so hated and Bush's war has made recruitment of terrorists so easy that we'll be fighting for a hundred years - unless we withdraw our military presence from all Islamic countries and quit supporting the dictators that rule them. People say that its the Islamic "fringe" that supports terrorism against the west, but that isn't true. The real "fringe" is the educated, westernized and moderate Islamics. Fortunately for us, they are the ones who hold power in most Islamic countries. As the situation in Pakistan today shows though, that may not be the case for that long.

The election of George W. Bush and the Republican Party was an expression of the ignorance, selfishness, gluttony and greed of my fellow American majority. Having sown the wind, we are beginning to reap the whirlwind.

And there are none of the leading candidates for president who has the character and intellectual wherewithal to do anything but screw it up worse. Our noble experiment with self government of 231 years has run aground and is sinking fast.

The Iranian people are not strongly behind their government, but don't want to revolt either. They, unlike the government, would like to be friends with the US.
Iran may be a paper tiger, since the mullahs seem to be awaiting the return of the Hidden Mahdi, so if he doesn't show up, maybe they will relax.
WW3 will come in about 10-15 years, when the world Islamist movement has had a chance to develop enough organization for it, and the West has noticed this and developed its own counter-measures.

No war with Iran.

They want no part of us.

They blow themselves up to look bigger by smarting off to the US.

Kinda like the Left beating up on President George Bush.

We just need to keep telling them that we won't tolerate their crap and wait for Israel to take them out.
