I'm 75% sure that there is some sort of virus that is causing my computer to not respond correctly. Now when I hit certain buttons they do strange things. It used to be bad but now its even worse. At first it just double typed letters (a goes to aa, b goes to bb) Now letters are becoming random and I can't even enter in my password to log on to my computer. It's now doing stuff like a going to aa and b going to bbbb. Also its changing a bunch of my keys. The enter button now controls the numlock button and the left arrow button shuts down my computer.

I am sure the problem is not the keyboard because I'm using the exact same keyboard that I have been using.

Is there any way to get on to my computer without the password and run some anti virus software?
Thanks in advance.

boot to safe mode, if do the same thing, then it's keyboard problem.

otherwise try another keyboard, if your one is PS/2, then try a PS/2 and a USB as well. it could be the ps/2 port on the motherboard is faulty.

Good LUCK

The only way to rule out the keyboard as being the problem is to substitue it with a known working keyboard.

It's very simple, just turn off the computer, unplug existing keyboard, plug in working keyboard and see what happens.

That's not to say the one you are using is bad, it's the only way to prove that it isn't.

Hope this helps...

The double letters thing really sounds like a keyboard issue.

I'd say go in safe mode and scan with an antivirus. Go with Kaspersky if you can find it in your area. Or you can take a chance and log on in safemode with networking and use their free online scanner. If it omes up clean then it could be just your keyboard that is dead.... It happens. It's a common thing.

Try another keyboard, and when you get in (if you do) do a spyware, anti-virus make-over. If that fails, reformat your harddrive.
