I know that station wagons were mainly used as practical family cars, but even when people are looking for practical vehicles, they still usually place some importance on the appearance of the car. Did anyone ever actually think that station wagons were nice cars?

My dad had a 69 Plymouth Satellite Forest Green station wagon that I really liked at the time. I've seen pics of guys that modified them to look like Road Runners...kinda goofy. Have a lot of family camping, hunting, fishing and trip memories in that old wagon. The new Dodge Magnum wagon is pretty nice looking in my opinion and Volvo's are sharp wagons too.

Funny you should ask!. I came from a big family; (10 brothers, and no sisters!),so back then we had to have a station wagon. It was cool when we went to places like the drive-in movies. Station wagons now-a-days are not big enough to fit 11 kids (lol).

In the 70s station wagons were really "cool" looking. GM recaptured some of the with the 91-96 Caprice/Roadmaster/Custom Cruiser. Today they all look like mini-suvs. ugh.

Even as a teenager, I love them! They always survived the demolition Derby, too.
