Here in the US at least there are censorship laws that regulate the showing of nudity in the media. Wouldn't nudity perhaps be less taboo and less titillating if children were regularly exposed to it from an early age? Of course, many associate nudity with sexuality, but it doesn't have to be that way. After all, people do all sorts of other things (sleeping, showering, etc.) in the nude.

That's a good question.

It's all about indoctrination. It would not be taboo, or nearly as taboo.

Look how graphic violence is so easily accepted in our culture. It's because we have been exposed to it early and often.

It's such hypocrisy to freak out if a child sees a boobie. But we have no reaction to the same child seeing violence.
A lot of places don't even want women breast feeding in public for heaven's sake.

Here in Ontario a law was challenged as discriminatory and now women are allowed to go topless in public if they want. They can walk down the sidewalk in any city or town topless.
It was a big issue at the time, and now a great number of people don't even know it's allowed. Few women exercise the right, and no one really even cares.

It's all about fear (again).

if nudity was a fact of open life.. the naked body would be de-sexualized.... all unnatural behavior always has a negative back lash... the reason we wear clothes, it gets very cold.... now when national geography went photographing other parts of the world in the 50's boys were foaming at the mouth for the nudity... that is an indication of unnatural behavior (unnatural reaction).... It's that way with every unnatural behavior imposed on us by our societies... (the origins of most unnatural imposing laws come from religions) each and every one causes unnatural reaction and behaviors... that explains the insane societies we live in..

I agree. We have hypersexualized our country based on the legacy of those most closeted of ancestors, the Puritans. In primitive cultures, anthropologists have seen that there is almost NO molestation and the like, because nudity is not associated with shame. At the same time as freaking out about a mom walking around nekked, we sell sex to the point of insanity in this culture, to the point that twelve year old girls are walking around "droppin it like its hot" Gotta love the legacy of the oppressive monothestic religions...

If it was a part of our culture, then it wouldn't be taboo and it would be taken in stride. There are other cultures that don't have a problem with nudity and the children are okay.

I say sturdy for them for understanding this till now having toddlers they have not have been given any activity in looking after. besides the fact that some people who are not "into" toddlers finally end up falling in love with their very own and can be large mum and dad. i individually love being a mom and that i like my toddlers, and their little buddy, nieces nephews, you call it. yet while i'm at dinner and paying a babysitter i don't want to hearken to somebody else's youngster cry, My toddlers do not act this way in public and no physique else's would desire to. in case you may't coach your toddler to act correct then i don't want to be around them the two.
