a womans small is normally a 4 and 6. a medium is an 8. a large is a 10,12. If you're lookin for a smaller size XS is size 0,2.
:) iF you're an 8 I WOULD recommend size M.
I wear an 8 and I always buy size M.

It's up for grabs. American sizing is difficult at best. A small can be size 6-8, a medium 8-10 but according to the clothing maker or designer the sizes could be anywhere. It's best to try everything on making ordering via catalog or internet difficult. I've been a 6 or an 8 for most of my life and I can tell you without trying things on, I can be surprised by the fit. Buy larger rather than smaller if you wish to buy online. Most times clothing makers will make note that their sizes run smaller or larger. If not ask if you can. But a larger size is usually safer.

It varies from store to store, but generally it's something like this:
Extra Small: 0-2
Small: 4-6
Medium: 8-10
Large: 12-14
Extra Large: 16-18

I think an american medium is like a 6-8. A small is like a 4-6. Large is 10-12. And extra large is like 12 and up.

Small is usually size 0-3. Medium is usually size 4-8, I believe.

You should be able to fit in XL tops at Hollister also. The jeans run smaller at Hollister (I am a zero at American Eagle and I can wear up to a five at Hollister, depending on the fit), so you can try an 11 at Hollister (thats the biggest they run) but you may be out of luck in jeans. Try Abercrombie, they are womens sizes like American Eagle (Hollister is juniors) and you should definitely fit in their clothes.

you need to specify if you are looking in junior sizes , women or petites even misses.. they can vary from designer to designer. im small frame but fit well into a med. juniors.
