and i want to record some music on Sound Recorder but it says that a mic is not connected is there any program or anything i can do on the computer to change the setting WITH OUT recording with a mic?????

not all mics are compatable with vista.try another mic

No - You need a microphone.
If its a laptop there may be an inbuilt one.
And using sound recorder to record music (im guessing radio/dvd) It is not the best program for that.
Try googleing "recording software"

a microphone is what allows audio to get into the computer
without a microphone, nothing gets in
