well it depends how close you are with your friends. if my friend wont shut up, im close with her so id just be like hey, shut up im trying to study and im gunna fail and she wouldnt be offended. but you can aklso try umm walking away???

That is showing disrespect
regardless if this is a friend or
a family.
Ask your friend how she would like it
if you kept bothering her non stop while she is trying to read, I don't think she would appreciate it. I wouldn't say lie to her or be mean to her but tell her you would like to read. Your friend can join you.
What you can suggest to her
ask her what kind of books she would like to
read, if you have her favorite kind of book tell her to join you in reading.
Even if its just 10 minutes or one or two chapter. Since she is talkative after that length of time you two can go over and discuss what she read.

I love reading and my best friends love talking so I politely say "I'm trying to read so please shut up" or I say "My Gosh Anna, Shut up! or i just walk away.
