And it was a long time ago - I am now nearly 33 but I wished I reported it a long time ago - I thought it was normal.

He's wrong, it's called statutory rape since she was a minor. Tell her to tell her parents, and the police.

No matter what anyone thinks of this arrangement, including both people involved, it is against the law and the adult should be prosecuted for statutory rape...and if any other adults knew about it and didn't stop it, they should be prosecuted for letting it happen.
There are some instances where a young girl gives consent to have sex with someone but the trouble with that is...they are not OLD enough to give consent. Which is the nature of the rape, even if she wanted it, even if she agreed to it, even if she helped sneak around to participate in it.
That's the legal side of things. From a psychological perspective, I think that both of these people are probably quite disturbed by now, esp her if she was used by force or molested and threatened to keep it a secret. There is a reason socially why people usually socialize and partner up with others in their peer group. When this is not the case, there is usually a warped sense of maturity or immaturity, and some warped sense of needing to control or be controlled. Both of these people need a lot of help.
From a moral perspective, God only knows why some folks gravitate toward bad company, it usually is an escape from something that they think is worse. If the girl was feeling trapped by her own family, maybe she took solace in a sexual relationship with an older man. Sin? Yes! Separation from God...I guess you can get a little more philosophical when you talk about whether she was in a state of sin, as in living a hellish life and somewhat taught to keep the cycle going, or whether she committed the sin of fooling around wit a man old enough to be her father. Whether or not she was "asking for it"...there is usually a process to becoming easy like that and it didn't start out being her fault. The only judge of her actions is God, under the conviction of her own conscience.
Still the adult can legally be held responsible for his actions, regardless of whether they were "in love" or not.

How on earth do you figure she has any blame in this situation? SHE IS A CHILD.
That man needs to be arrested and charged - it's disgusting of him to take advantage of & ultimately rape a 14yr old girl.
YUK.
Edited: You can still report him although it was so long ago. Contact a support group for survivors of childhood sexual assault, they will put you on the right track to get a conviction. His mother will never accept her son was in the wrong although she feels guilty for his actions, this is why she will continue to direct her anger toward you - do not take her issues on board, you deserve better & she knows it.

Honey, you were abused, you were the victim here not him. Don't let them make you feel guilty for it. You were a child and he was supposed to be a grown man. Never feel guilt over something you really had no control over. He should be the one who feels guilty not you. But evidently, he's a pedophile and feels no remorse. And your aunt is wrong, way wrong to try to make you the guilty party. Hold your head up and be strong. You're the better person for it.

The adult is the UNCLE. She's still a child and could not know better. Being labelled a s**t is SO MINOR compared to the REAL ISSUE. He is RAPING HER whether she wants to accept it or not! Please help her out of this UGLY SITUATION. God Bless you and may He be with you so that you have the words and wisdom to do what is RIGHT.

It is against the law for someone to sleep with someone under the age of 18. Notify authority, or tell an adult!

yes, she probably should have known better, but HE is certianly in the wrong. She is only a minor, so technically he could be prosecuted.
