Trolls, stalker's and reporters. If someone don't like you or are jealous of you they will go through your ?'s and answers and report them.

I can look at all your questions and report the lot and yahoo will be happy to delete them,
so if you hide them I am going to have to search and find them the hard way

The reason would be because they have given someone in real life their yahoo account name, and dont want them to know of the questions they ask and answers they give on yahoo answers. I think that no one here would want that.

i had a contact go and report several questions that were old and had best answers already. so now i hide them.

you know, I was about to ask this same question•_• But anyways i just do it because some questions are stupid. I really dont understand whats the point of setting them to private because people can add themselves as your contact and therefore can see them *_*, so its kinda pointless.

there are some people on here who goes around reporting people for no reason. if you make it private, they can't see your questions/answers therefore they can't report you. too many violations could get you suspended

That my friend is a mystery to all of us. One possibility that is for a security reasons. Or privacy reason.
