actually, it is neither..and both.
Gold can be put into solution and applied in various means to a layer as thin as 2 molecules. At this thickness, it is transparent. This application would be for use as an anti-glare on items like an astronauts face shield.
In thicker applications, it can be used on plated jewelry to give a translucent golden effect on base metals of different colors.
In even thicker applications, it can be used to completely conceal the piece to which it is applied making it opaque.
You are both correct.

Well transparent means you can see right through it, it's clear. But translucent means you can see through but it's not as easy to see through sort of like sheer curtains or something lol, hope that made sense lol. So like the mineral gold would be opaque

Neither, gold is opaque, meaning you can not see through it. To be transparent is to be clear, translucent is to be cloudy but still allow light to pass through. Since gold is a solid metal, you can not see through it at all, making it opaque.

It is neither!
"Transparent" means you can clearly see through something (like window glass), though it can be tinted any color. "Translucent" means light comes through, though you probably cannot see exactly what's on the other side, only that there is a light source. Gold does not let light come through it.

sparkling if that is sparkling and precise filtered. i'm from Singapore and visited la few yrs in the past and realised the water from the faucet grew to become into transLUCENT (milky colored) and it takes a on a similar time as for the contents to calm down and sink to the backside till now the water turns into sparkling! From the place i'm residing, water from faucet is often sparkling (sparkling)...

As far as I know, gold is opaque. You can't see through it at all.
