When you ovulate you are considered 2 weeks pregnant, since your pregnancy is dated from your last period. The fertilized egg takes 6-10 days to travel to your uterus and implant, and then HCG is created. You are about 3 weeks pregnant when this happens. The levels double every 2-3 days so by 4 weeks after your last period, when your period is due, a test should be accurate.
You would count your pregnancy from the first day of your last menstrual period, so March 23rd would be the first day of your pregnancy, although the baby was not conceived until about 2 weeks after that. The first 2 weeks of the 40, are before conception.

HCG is more concentrated in blood than it is in urine, which is why if you're anxious to know you should have a blood test done rather than waiting for a positive on the HPT. Some of those HPTs measure at a higher level than would be detected at this stage of the pregnancy. There are lots of things that can go wrong when taking a HPT, but if you got a + from a blood test taken by a medical professional, that is your true result. Don't worry about it, celebrate it! You probably got pregnant before your last cycle. Remember your due date is an estimate, it can be off by up to 7 days either way.

not sure but you can get a period while pregnant so i would wait for an ultrasound to tell you how far along you are
