Sounds like the folk around here when they get upset with someone. They say things like, "If I didn't care for you young ones, I wouldn't be standing here talking to you..."
Just don't tell too much of the truth to me huh? ;)

This reminds me of the commercial where the girl, Kelly
something or other, says, "Don't be angry with me, because
I'm beautiful". I grew to hate that commercial. And this quote
strikes me as from that same genre. I think I'd look for some-
thing more descriptive of a group of wonderfully warm and
generous people who enjoy sharing their views and exper-
iences, and funny humor with others who enjoy the same in
life. And if the junior league wants to peek in and share or
learn from our comments, then come one come all. But re-
member to be respectful of all who come here for a respite
or haven from the other categories frequented by the less
mature from time to time.
No, I'd look for something a little better suited and more
appropo. But thanks for asking.

There's another saying that " the truth hurts. "
I've mentioned before that Judge Judy on her court show often says "you don't need a good memory if you tell the truth". No truer words have been spoken.

I think it would be great if we could all live by that ""Motto"
however in todays society the truth is no longer the same to everyone.
one mans truth is another mans fallacy.
I will not be angry with anyone that tells me the truth as they see it,
I understand that not everyone believes as I do, but I can respect their right to their beliefs. and hope that their can respect my right to mine.

As long as it's done tactfully and not rudely, then there shouldn't be any problem. We can't all agree, but at least we can respect the fact that everyone has a right to their own opinion.
Good point.

Oh, yes! Me especially I think. I have been known to not care how many feathers I am ruffling as I tell the truth to whoever asks.

I think that must be the Y/A motto. It is a fine motto as long as it is not carried to far.

I would advice tact and sensitivity to the way the word is spoken. People will become defensive and not "hear" you if you say the words and it sounds like you are attacking them.

But, I do not tell it(the truth) unless I am asked. That is one thing that has changed with age.

Yes, that sounds reasonable to me, And if they don't like it , you could add: You can't handle the truth.
