well 1 half can be changed to 2 fourths and you just add that to 3 fourths=

That equals to 1 1/4 chicken

you can't add one half of a chicken to three fourths of a chicken!! it would go over 1

a good meal... but seriously find the lowest common denominator, which is 4 in this case.
that makes it (2/4) + (3/4) and you add the numerators to get (5/4), or one and a quarter chickens.
