I chose it. He's 18 and his father still doesn't spell it right.

A joint effort, but I basically did all the "footwork" and we narrowed the list down from there. We have fairly specific taste -- not quite the same as simply hearing a name on a dozen other newborns and decided "hey, we like that!" -- so it took some work. ;)

Once we've narrowed it down to two or three first name choices, or simply cannot choose between our favorite combos, my husband does ultimately leave the decision up to me (lovely man)! But of course, that's only choosing from our combined favorites anyway. ;) So still a joint effort, but I do get a bit of a weighted say, for lack of a better explanation.

I've always loved the name Thomas, so when I found I was pregnant I told my (ex) partner that if it was a boy I wanted to call him Thomas.

My ex's dad had died 18months before I'd met him and for some reason I'd got into my head his dads name was John.
So when I said I wanted to call our son Thomas it was quite a poignant moment as as it turns out his dad was called Thomas.

Shame is was about the only poignant moment we had!

Joint effort. Ran short list by close family to vote on.

i'm naming my twin boys who're due in October, River Jude and Zachary Finch. My husband and that i in simple terms the two somewhat enjoyed River, via fact we adore nature and spending trip in it. it somewhat is something we would desire to instill in our childrens; consistently ascertain to take time and savor the little and alluring issues in existence. Jude is after the Beatles music, howdy Jude. We enjoyed the meaning in the back of the music and The Beatles are his widespread band. Zachary is in part after my previous due uncle Zack, and in part via fact we the two somewhat enjoyed the call. Finch is a sort of fowl, which ties back to the character theory with River's call. If we've been to have a woman, her call may be Alexandria Rose. Alexandria is a recognition we actually like, (with the nickname Allie or Dria), and Rose is after my grandmother. :)

Actually, I am very strong minded but my husband completely named my son.... His name is Cameron Ryan, Ryan was even an ex-boyfriend of mine and he didn't care!!!!!!!! But I love my little Cam Ryan and it fits him to a T. This baby one the other hand, I told him to just shut up and I will let him know what the name will be! hahaha. Not really, I care about his opinion, but especially if it is a girl........ it is my turn!

I have 3 boys and one girl. My ex only chose the name for the second boy.
I have now chosen 2 of my grand children's names too.

I chose my eldest daughter's name with my then husband's approval but I was pushed into naming my second daughter (she nearly died just after birth and had to be baptised in the hospital) by my then husband and my dad because my dad didn't like the name I had chosen!!

I picked the names, but the names were okay with their father. Daniel-from Elton John's song, and Crystal Lynn from a Stevie Nicks song.

Joint. We agreed on the first name, which wasn't my first pick so I got to get say on the middle name. If we have more we'll have to take turns.

We both chose them, I wanted to call both girls Kendal (great name, even if it is an English village), but he didn't agree, so we both agreed on names we both liked, which by the way are still great names!
