I do indeed remember the show but didn't watch it much. The show aired from 1950-1956. I was a young one then.

Not me. I don't think there was even T.V's in the early 50's where I lived.
Space cadet was used to describe someone on drugs, or someone not completely normal acting, even for a short time.

I do remember him vaguely. I mainly remember the opening,
that you stated, with the long drawn out 'spaaaaaaaaace'!
But do you remember, Johnny Jupitor? I still remember seeing him in his silver looking space suit, in the days of 'black & white.' He went on to be in minor roles over the years and I never failed to recognize him.

We got our TV in '53 , but I can't for the life of me remember that show .Thanks for the link . I remember the name and I'm wondering if maybe the show was on the radio first.
