what would be the outcome? .. forget age and sex.. just go with the premise?
I wonder how many of the Armchair war folks would show up? .. I think you would see more protest from them than willing pawns..
I know I wouldn't go.. but I don't feign my allegiance to a false ideal...
That makes me honest.. anyone else wanna die for God and Country...or Oil Profits?

I'd show up in a heartbeat. I did my service 20 some years ago, but what the heck, if the country got desperate enough to want my fat a** out there, I guess it's just about over anyway. At least I could have a shot at taking a few haters down before I go.

i tried after 9/11 to enlist... i am a nurse and thought my skills could be used to help defend our country...
unfortunately...i am too old.... so i support where i can.. however i can...
soooooo to answer your question...yes i would go...and be proud to do so...
i love my country... and i want it to remain free... i don't want us to have to deal with madmen and bombs on our soil.. you forget... WE were attacked... WE are not the aggressors... and just because there are those who CHOOSE to think it is a conspiracy for oil...doesn't make it so...
we watched in horror as those planes flew into the twin towers... we gathered our families together and prayed for the souls lost that day... and we knew we had to make sure it did not happen again...
too many have forgotten the horror of that day... too many have taken a leave of absence from their senses.. and now condemn the US for taking action...
they are fools... and have no respect for those who died to give them the freedom they trash with their hatred...
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself." John Stewart Mill
you asked how many would show up.... i can't speak for anyone else...i can only speak for myself... i can see there are many who answered this question who feel the same...
how can you say we didn't answer it? because we didn't go line by line and tell you what we think would happen to YA???
okay...how's this?
it would be filled with those who would not serve...still denigrating those who do... patting yourselves on the back that you were "too smart" to fight for oil.... and if the day came, where this country was no longer free.... and you could not espouse your silly *** theories on this medium... you would scratch your heads collectively and wonder why.....
how 's that for an answer?

You know what - I'd go. I can't even believe it while I'm typing.
I guess whatever the reasons we went there - no matter how invalid or false - we are there now, I can't see a good outcome if we up and leave, and I can't see turning my back if my number comes up. What a mess.
I did 12 - I can do more. Of course I'm fat and lethargic and if they need me we really are screwed.

So you would head for Canada?
Sounds about right.
What's your jest of the question, those who are over there in Iraq or have ever been in the military, have gone so that you and everyone else can sit behind their computer and ask questions like you ask without fear of being dusted off.
That is what makes the US great, some people are willing to give their lives so that others can spout off at the mouth, burn flags and even protest the death of our service members while they are being buried.

I would serve my country proudly as i plan to anyway. I am what you liberal scumbags would call a "pawn." I am the envoy of your rights. Without me, you wouldnt be practicing your america-hating speech every day. Me and people like me are the reason you can even oppose the government if you so wish. its so sad if you ask a liberal a mildy hard question they just repeat themselves, dodge the question entirely or resort to petty insults. This is because liberals dont really believe in their own views, they just want to oppose people. so dont come to me with your sniveling agendas, why dont YOU go out on the front line, asker and see how much YOU appreciate soldiers
are you a liberal loonie 9/11 conspirator? we didnt go in for the oil, you traitorous being, we went in to liberate them. We believed they had WMDs, this was not, contrary to popular belief, bush's fault or lie, it was in fact an iraqi's own account.
so lay off on the traitor talk, k?
