I'm currently a senior in Highschool and have taken AP Psychology. Psychology is a class where you learn about how the brain works. What the different parts of the brain does. Why a person may act a certain way. Different stages of many things that people go through such as the death of a loved one( which are denial , anger, bargaining, depression, acceptance). Sociology talks about the social interaction between people in everyday life. It mainly answers why things happen within the social side of society. Examples may include: why when in deciding an answer as a group, one may choose a certain answer because other people around him answered it a specific way, and although he thought it was his own choice, he actually has chosen it unconciously.

Psychology is more concerned with the processes taking place in the brain of the isolated individual. Sociology is more group interactions and how people change in groups. A lot of people today are going into psych with goals of helping others with counseling or whatever. Sociology is more for people who prefer the big picture at the expense of the individual. Both sciences drastically help our understanding of people though. I suggest taking introductory psych and soc classes when you get to college and getting a feel of which one you like more.

psychology is the study of human behavior, while sociology is the study of human behavior in groups (from 2 people to the whole world). both are very interesting and to some degree, scary. i studied both at the university of new mexico and almost got my degree but stopped when i realized that the more you study humans, the more puzzling they are. i work in a factory now where my sociology helps alot in the game playing and politics

I'm taking AP Psychology and i'm in the 12th grade.
Psychology is the study of human behavior and their cognitive processes. Meaning you will study levels of conciousness, learning, memory, brain functions, and a TON of other fascinating stuff. I highly suggest getting into it, it is extremely interesting!

Great thing to study. But - there is no work in that field. Everyone knows that you have to have at least a master's degree to make 10 bucks an hour. It's not worth it, and there is no work-related application of all you have to learn.
I graduated with a degree in psychology, and then became a personal trainer and massage therapist, and started my own business. So much money and work went into a degree I can't use.

Psychology is the scientific study of the behaviour of individuals (not exclusively humans) and their mental processes. Basically it's the same thing as sociology, but focused on individuals rather than groups.
